Alicia A. Weissmeier, Esq., Chief Operating Officer – April 2012

Ms. Weissmeier is the Chief Operating Officer of the Firm, a member of the Firm’s HIPAA Compliance Committee, and the Managing Attorney of the Denial Management Department with over 20 years’ experience as an attorney in a management role.

As Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Weissmeier works closely with the CEO to implement the Firm’s strategic priorities and in ensuring all departments have the appropriate legal oversight in day-to-day business matters.  In addition, she provides all departments with legal guidance and is involved in the Firm’s Patient Accounts practice and Trust and Estate practice.

Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Weissmeier was the Chief Miscellaneous Clerk of the New York County Surrogate’s Court.  In managing the Miscellaneous Department, she was the liaison between the surrogates, attorneys, and general public for all matters litigated at the courthouse, and for select non-contested matters as well.  Prior to her Surrogate’s Court appointment, she was the Managing Partner of a general practice law firm in Manhattan.

Ms. Weissmeier is a member of the Board of Directors of Concerned Home Managers for the Elderly (COHME), a non-profit home health care agency that provides services to the elderly and their families in New York City.  She holds a dual Bachelor of Arts degree from the City University of New York at Queens College and a Juris Doctor and LL.M degree from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University.   Ms. Weissmeier is licensed to practice law in the states of New York and New Jersey, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, United States District Court for the Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of New York and the District Court of New Jersey.
