Thomas Manzi, Esq., Associate – May 2016

Mr. Manzi assists veterans in applying for and obtaining benefits they may be entitled to and handles Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income applications.  Additionally, he evaluates clients’ estate plans, assisting in the drafting of legal documents necessary to effectuate their goals.  Mr. Manzi also assists in managing the firm’s Court Appointments in Article 81 Guardianships.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Manzi held the position of clerk with a federal judge in the Eastern District of New York, in a private practice elder law firm,  with the Nassau County Department of Health and Social Services, and as a Pro Bono Scholar at Nassau Suffolk Law Services, Veterans Rights project, where he provided more than 500 hours of free legal assistance to local veterans and their families.

Prior to the start of his legal career, Mr. Manzi served his country as an EMT-CC, volunteer firefighter, and U.S. Army soldier.  In 2010, he deployed to Northern Afghanistan as a Combat Engineer assigned to the 10th Mountain Division in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, where he received an Army Commendation Medal.  Mr. Manzi earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Affairs and Emergency Management from Empire State College.  He earned his Juris Doctor from Maurice A. Deane School of Law and is licensed to practice law in the state of New York.
