Christina G. Milone, Esq., CEO and Managing Partner – January 1990
Ms. Milone has been involved in the healthcare industry for more than two decades. Her experience in, and knowledge of, the industry afford Ms. Milone a unique understanding of the collective and individual objectives of every client. Recognizing how increasingly complex the requirements of clients have become, the Firm continues to expand its service lines to support the needs of the businesses and individuals it serves.
Ms. Milone is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association, of which she is a member of the Elder Law and Health Law sections. In addition, she is actively involved in the Healthcare Finance Management Association (HFMA), a respected thought leader on trends and issues facing the healthcare industry. Ms. Milone holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Adelphi University and a Juris Doctorate degree from Touro Law School; she was admitted to the Bar in 1993 and is licensed to practice in the state of New York, including the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York.
Ms. Milone is proud of the relationships she has developed over her years in practice and is honored to represent many hospitals in the five boroughs as well as in Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk counties.

Tammy Rose Lawlor, Esq., Partner – July 1997
Tammy R. Lawlor, Esq. is a Partner at the Law Firm of Miller & Milone, P.C. located in Garden City, New York. Miller & Milone, P.C. is a full service law firm, practicing in Elder Law, Health Law, Estates and Trusts. Ms. Lawlor is a graduate of the Hofstra University School of Law and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1997. She also holds a Master of Business Administration, specializing in Finance. She has practiced with Miller & Milone, P.C. since 1997 and her practice focuses primarily on Guardianships. Ms. Lawlor has handled hundreds of Guardianships throughout the state of New York. She is appointed by the Court as Court Evaluator, Court Appointed Counsel to Guardian, Temporary Guardian, and Guardian for the Person and Property by the Courts in multiple counties. In addition, she assists clients to engage in Medicaid planning, and has filed countless Medicaid applications.
She represents numerous hospitals, assisted living facilities and skilled nursing facilities in the New York Metropolitan area. She assists these institutions with their admissions policies and procedures, discharge issues, as well as their insurance and Medicaid issues. She also reaches out to those patients in their facilities that require assistance with advance directives, Medicaid planning, and discusses the possibility of the appointment of a Guardian in the event that they do not have anyone with legal authority to act on their behalf.
She is the Chair for the New York State Bar Association Elder Law and Special Needs Section. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and Past President of NY NAELA. In addition, she is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association Elder Law Committee and the New York City Committee on Legal Problems – Issues of the Aging. She is also on the Hofstra School of Health Sciences Dean’s Advisory Board.
Ms. Lawlor has been a frequent speaker at engagements for fellow attorneys involving programs sponsored by local bar association, the New York State Bar Association, the various local bar associations, and the National Business Institute. She also presents regularly on a variety of topics to patients and clients at hospitals, assisted living facilities, and skilled nursing facilities.

Alicia A. Weissmeier, Esq., Chief Operating Officer – April 2012
Ms. Weissmeier serves as Chief Operating Officer for the Firm and is a member of the Firm’s HIPAA Compliance Committee. She brings more than twenty (20) years of legal and management experience to her role.
As Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Weissmeier works closely with the CEO to advance the Firm’s strategic priorities and ensures appropriate legal oversight of day-to-day business operations.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Weissmeier served as Chief Miscellaneous Clerk of the New York County Surrogate’s Court. In that capacity, she managed the Miscellaneous Department and served as a liaison among the surrogates, attorneys, and members of the public for matters litigated at the courthouse as well as select non-contested matters. Earlier in her career, she was the Managing Partner of a general practice law firm in Manhattan.
Ms. Weissmeier serves on the Board of Directors of Concerned Home Managers for the Elderly (COHME), a nonprofit home health care agency that provides services to adults and their families in New York City. She holds a dual Bachelor of Arts degree from the City University of New York at Queens College, as well as a Juris Doctor and LL.M. from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. Ms. Weissmeier is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey, and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of New York, and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Elizabeth Murphy, Esq., Senior Associate – May 2005
Ms. Murphy works with clients in obtaining community and chronic care Medicaid, and supervises the preparation of Medicaid applications for both nursing home care and home and community-based care. In addition, she attends Fair Hearings on behalf of the Firm’s hospital and nursing home clients as well as private clients who have been issued inadequate or erroneous Medicaid decisions. Ms. Murphy assists clients with their Estate and Medicaid Planning needs and drafts the legal documents necessary to effectuate the client’s goals. She also handles Estate and Administration matters.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Murphy was a title consultant, responsible for closing real estate and clearing title on real properties throughout the New York Metropolitan areas.
Ms. Murphy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications and Rhetorical Studies from Hofstra University and a Juris Doctor from Touro Law School. From 2014 through 2017, she was selected as a member of Super Lawyers Rising Stars, New York Metro area. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association Elder Law section and the Nassau County Bar Association Elder Law, Social Services & Health Advocacy Committee. She is licensed to practice in the state of New York and before the United States Supreme Court.

Sara O’Connor, Esq., Associate – April 2012
Ms. O’Connor haas over Fourteen (14) years of experience dedicated to Mental Hygiene Law Article 81 Guardianship proceedings. She provides legal guidance in cases involving diminished capacity, elder law issues, financial exploitation, and complex medical decision-making. She drafts legal documentation to initiate Guardianship proceedings and attends Guardianship Hearings in Nassau, Suffolk, Kings, Queens, and New York Counties. She has extensive experience handling every stage of Article 81 litigation, including commencing Guardianship proceedings, defending against contested Guardianship Petitions, emergency applications for Temporary Guardians and injunctive relief, modification or termination of Guardianships, and medical decision-making disputes. She coordinates with Hospitals, Nursing Facilities, Social Workers, and Care Managers to develop practical solutions that protect vulnerable individuals while preserving independence whenever possible.
Ms. O’Connor was a volunteer attorney at New York Mental Hygiene Legal Service prior to joining the Firm. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law. Ms. O’Connor is licensed to practice in the state of New York.
